Lindsay Lohan

Taking advantage of a story about Jamie Lee Curtis and her battle with pain killers that popped up on my news feed this morning, I went hunting for a good picture of her to use for the TDA famous alcoholic feature.

I though it would be cool to get a shot of one her characters that earned her the title “the queen of scream” from the horror movies like Halloween, Prom Night, and my personal favorite, The Fog, but ran across something far better. The photo to the right is of Lindsay Lohan five years ago presenting Mrs. Curtis with an award for helping troubled teens… especially those dealing with alcohol problems. Now that’s a scary picture!

While we were shooting she told me she worked with Teen Line, and I immediately thought that it was amazing that people my age have a resource to turn to. Someone they can call their own age to talk to and get help." ~ USA Today

Ms Lohan may no longer be a teenager, but it would probably do her a world of good to give Jamie Lee a call these days.

Here’s a little bit of local news that caught my attention this week. Patsy Hamaker, a stripper at the Birmingham, AL gentlemen’s club The Furnace, is suing her employer because managers allowed her to leave in an intoxicated state. On her drive home she was involved in an accident in which she was injured and was also charged with DUI.

"Defendants ... allowed a dangerous condition to exist by allowing said plaintiff to leave its establishment in such an intoxicated state while under said defendants' supervision and control," according to the suit.

It is part of Patsy’s “job” to scam club patrons into buying her overpriced and what are usually watered down drinks, she does share a percentage of the sales of these drinks with the club. However I still fail to see where it is anyone’s fault but her own that she was injured and charged with DUI.

Sounds like to me she's got a lap dance lawyer that is urging her to play the victim card... if she gets an all male jury it may even work.

Britney Spears probably muttered TGFLL (thank God for Lindsay Lohan) when she read Friday’s edition of USA Today that featured the above full page ad featuring Ms Lohan’s DUI mug shot. The ad was commissioned by The American Beverage Institute, a restaurant association that promotes on-premise alcoholic beverage consumption. It was meant to raise awareness about new laws going into affect that allow for ignition interlock use in punishment for drunk driving offences.

Hopefully no one from the ABI drove home after the planning session for this ad campaign because they obviously must have drank one too many of those adult beverages themselves to come up with such an idiotic idea. They might as well run ad add saying we support drunk driving for those not yet convicted of driving under the influence!

Lindsay Lohan recently shot a photo series mimicking what is popularly known as Marilyn Monroe’s “Last Sitting”. Same poses, same hotel, and even Bert Stern, the same photographer that did the original 1963 shoot which 6 weeks afterward Marilyn died of a drug overdose. Mentioning Monroe and the recent Heath Ledger death, clueless Lohan gushed about how dangerous the “industry” is for celebrities stating; "I sure as hell wouldn't let it happen to me."

Lohan described Monroe's suicide as "tragic" and said it, along with the Jan. 22 death of actor Heath Ledger from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, "are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone."~ Fox News

I often couch my criticism of Lilo recalling the idiocy of my addiction, but I am afraid that instead of life imitating art we will soon see death imitating history. Ms Lohan needs to wake up and smell the coffee, its not the “industry” that kills people… it’s the drugs and alcohol that do all the killing!
