Calling someone a 70’s great might sound like a backhanded compliment, but since Gerry Rafferty sold over 10 million records and his songs are still played with reverence today I think he’ll forgive me… that is if he’s not dead yet. Chronic alcoholic Rafferty snuck out of the hospital this week where he was being treated for liver failure after a particularly harsh drunken binge at a London Hotel. Police have yet to find him since the hospital reported him missing.
Usually when I make a post on famous alcoholics it’ll contain a bio, interesting facts, and sometimes even a TDA salute, but not today. Nope today I’ll just offer a quick prayer, listen to a little of his classic music, and hope that alcoholism hasn’t claimed another life.
Come home Gerry Rafferty, come home and dry.

I am a recovering alocoholic with the wonderful gift of 5 years continuous sobriety. I so love Gerry Raffert's songs that I recently "Googled" his name and ran across his latest alcoholic binge info that I identified with being 59 years old and done my share of binging. I also ran across your wonderful website that linked Gerry Rafferty and your wishes and prayers for him to come home. I pray for him to come home too and I know that if I can maintain sobriety thru AA and spiritiuality anyone can because I was on Gerry's path.
If by the grace of God Gerry should ever run across this website or read our comments please know that we love you Gerry and would take you in or do anything we can to help another lost soul recover from alcohol's death grip.
Please, please Gerry come home.
every few days, but have seen no news on his return. Let me know if you hear something.
Hope to see you around.
