We have to develop a set of tools and routines to achieve sobriety. These tools help us learn about ourselves and the routines assist us in staying productive (and out of trouble). But we shouldn’t stop there, these methods we develop during our recovery can be used for so much more.

Why would once you have been clean and/or sober for several years should you settle for an average life, why not strive for above average? When you have learned to conquer the demons that once seemed insurmountable, why not tackle the more mundane challenges in life?
What I am trying to say is, “if you can tame the beast called addiction, you can do anything.” Yea I know its sounds hokey, reminds me of something Napoleon Hill or Steven Covey would say, but it doesn't mean its not true.
This is going to be a recurring theme at TDA, that there is an empowerment to be found in recovery. I wanted to spend more time on this topic tonight, but I find myself nodding. I am sure some of you are wondering why the picture of the cat, well lets just say that I have showcased one of my cats... just because I can.

but I don't much agree with the empowerment spiel. It's a disease, not a asset.
